What an adventure XPD ! The guys from Geocentric put on a great adventure for everyone who wants to commit to 5-10 days of wilderness treking.
Described as “XPD will span 800km of the Australian High Country and see teams taking in some of Australia’s highest mountains; white water paddling on turbulent rivers fed by melting winter snow; navigating through alpine forests of snowgum and tall sub-alpine mountain gums and visiting historic gold rush towns. “
Hammer Nutrition, sponsored Team Outdoor Magazine, who’s Andrew Renwick described the event as simply “fantastic, being able to cover such great distances (800km) in such a great part of the world”.
Andrew and team used 2 Hammer products throughout the race ( Endruolytes and Perpetuem) and described their effectiveness;
“Racing is 24hrs a day, we used Endurolytes to stave off cramping and keep our legs ticking, our dosage varied from 1 to 3 tablets per hour depending on the weather and the hills. Over the 6 days we had no major instances of cramping, even after hours of sitting in a kayak on freezing water. Our reason for choosing this product was the fact that it provides a hassle free method of delivering electrolyte without requiring us to drink copious amounts of sweet liquid.In addition throughout the day there would always be a multi-hour bottle of Perpetuem on hand. At various times throughout any endurance event it becomes hard to continue force feeding yourself solid food and Perpetuem provided the energy we required to keep on moving in a form that was palatable even in our darkest hours.”
