Deanne Blegg (one of our sponsored athletes) recently finished the Anaconda MTB Enduro in the Northern territory in a brilliant 4th place.
Alice Springs the perfect place for the Anaconda MTB Enduro. 5days, 7 stages of hard core X country mountain biking.
What more could make one’s week?
Now, whilst I’m not an expert mountain biker I figure the only way to get good at something is by doing it.
What better way than covering over 300km of techy single track, tricky 4WD track and sandy and corrugated 2WD tracks.
Better still our mornings started at a respectable 9am and we were done by lunch time on most days!
Riding Was Fantastic
The riding was fantastic. The tracks around Alice are fast, technical, rocky and to say the least quite challenging.
Night Rider
I have to say one of my favorite stages was the night ride.
Imagine this. 200 riders gathering as the sun was setting. The sun sets quick in the centre and the twilight is gone in a blink.
A great thank you goes to Anaconda who has been very generous with their sponsorship. Racing interstate can sap the family budget and make it difficult to attend these races.
Thanks Anaconda for making it possible.
Great Bike, Great Mechanics
To survive these races one needs a good bike, better bike skills and great mechanics.
Thanks so much to the Boys and Gal at Gran Prix Bicycles in Caulfield South. These guys have helped me all the way from a complete novice through to a passionate MT Biker.
To last such long hours on the bike and to back it up day after day it is important to get your nutrition right.
Hammer Nutrition was used amongst many of the competitors and I must say the Hammer Gels kept me fueled through the race and the Recoverite formula post race really helped me keep on top of things.

Well done Deanna!
