Sport: Long course triathlon
Sporting accomplishment: turned professional late 2017
Won Yeppoon triathlon festival 2019
4th challenge China 2019
How did you get into the sport: originally I was training to become fit for the police force but I feel in love with the sport.
Hardest thing about your sport: staying focused on the longer sessions
Regular training week: my weeks consist of swim bike run sessions plus strength and conditioning.
I’ll swim anything from 2-4 sessions a week
Bike I have 2 double bike days plus a long ride
Run sessions average 4 a week one of them run off the bike others consist of interval training, tempo runs, long runs these sessions can be anything between 45min-3hr
How do you keep motivated: I try my best to plan ahead, plan a 5-6months race schedule so you have something to be training for and focused on. I love my sport but sure there are the days you lack motivation, I find setting goals helps not like huge ones but little goals to get to the big ones. Even just session goals.
Goals: qualify for world championships in my professional career
Win a 70.3 title
Win an Ironman title
The best piece of advice I have been given: ironman race day is long day wether your fast or slow.
