How did you get into the sport?
I got into the sport as a way to experience beautiful outdoor places in a busy life, share time with friends, and have a challenge outside of work
Hardest thing about the sport?
Hardest thing about my sport is not doing too much – there are so many amazing events I would love to do, but can’t do them all! And balancing training with a busy work life
What does your regular training week consist of?
My regular training consists largely of road running, with a trail run on the weekend if I am lucky. I balance running with swimming and cycling to prevent injury, and strength training a few times a week is a must.
How do you keep motivated?
My main motivation to stay fit and healthy is so I can keep up with my friends and partner!
Goals (Future Plans and Career Expectations)
my main goal is to keep challenging myself, explore new places, and make more memories. However, the key goal is to be able to keep doing these activities for many decades to come, so keeping strong and healthy with smart training and fuelling is key. Goal races for next little while – try to do a faster/better 100km, break a 5km PB, and try to do a road marathon PB – so a mix of everything. Also hopefully a trail running event in Italy in 2025.
Best piece of advice you have received?
when the going gets tough, just get to the next tree (from my Dad)
