How’d you get into your sport?
In 2009 I did the Pink Triathlon at Challenge Stadium, after I decided to do a triathlon course which was an 8-week course which then finished up with the Hillarys Women’s Triathlon in 2010. 8 years of triathlons and various distances such as sprint, Olympic 70.3, full Ironman, and Canada World Champs representing Australia in 2014. Then in 2018 I decided to test the waters and do a 3-day stage race this is where I met so many amazing people from the Ultra Series community and they are the reason I love this sport so much. I’m also blessed to have my mum and my partner also involved in the sport.
Hardest Thing about your sport?
I would have to say the no sleep during the long races. The 200 miles is my favourite distance and I think over the 5 days I’d get maybe 4 hours if I’m lucky. I have learned the more sleep you get during these races you can really keep pushing on but my body always has other ideas. Sleep is key that’s for sure.
What does your regular training week consist of?
I have 4 run sessions a week, 2 easy runs and 2 long run days. 2 strength sessions and Monday is a recovery day.
How do you keep motivated?
Just keep booking more races so then you have to keep training. I usually book races up for the year so I have a plan and I find this is the best way to keep myself motivated.
